A presentation by Linda Oliveira.

Human culture today exhibits strong streams of materialism and narcissism. Are there larger universal forces at work here? We will explore the teaching of the Yugas or great Ages from Indian Philosophy, with particular reference to Kali Yuga and the potent symbology of the goddess Kali. This presentation will also review the various features of narcissism as identified in modern psychology, and its clear connection with Kali Yuga.

Linda Oliveira joined the Theosophical Society in 1971 in Canberra, Australia. Her Arts degree is from the Australian National University. Linda spent a year in the American Section mainly as a student at the Krotona School of Theosophy, California, and working at the National Headquarters of the American Section. She is a former International Vice-President and is a member of the General Council. Linda is the National President of the Australian Section and edits Theosophy in Australia magazine. She holds a conviction that genuine reflection upon the Wisdom teachings provides an opportunity for human spiritual transformation, when they are deeply assimilated and practised.

Adyar Renovation Project

HPB Lodge Challenge

The Lodge Committe would like to lend our fullest support to this wonderful initiative. Of course, each of the four initial key projects are very worthy in their own right, however the Committee has decided to focus its support on one of these projects; being the restoration of Leadbeater Chambers. Many of our members have stayed there and know its beauty and sadly, its poor state of health. We would like to encourage as many members as possible to visit this most serene and inspiring spiritual estate. Having accommodation that enhances this overall experience is a positive step towards this aspiration.

We have set ourselves a challenge to raise US$5,000 (NZ$7,250) to provide for the renovation of a room at Leadbeater Chambers.
